Book of Shadows: Volume One: Casting – Michael Beaulieu

16-year-old Emma McGlinchey-Beaulieu and her best friends, Lia and Shar, are on the verge of beginning their junior year at the Catholic high school they’re being forced to attend for the first time when Emma finds her late, great grandmother’s book of shadows, a witch’s spell book and journal.

Naturally, Emma attempts one of the spells and it works, unlocking a magickal world she never could’ve dreamed of. Unfortunately, the glamour spell they cast to make everyone like them at the new school fails to work on a group of zealots who set about bullying Lia and Shar for being an openly gay couple. Meanwhile, a love spell they cast for Emma gets the boy of her dreams to ask her out, but the school guidance counselor comes onto her, too. Soon the girls are attempting to deal with the bullies, and put out the fires they’ve started, using other spells, but can they finally put things right or will catastrophe ensue?
