Retired newspaperman Raymond “Deuce” Luce’s adventures from Fort Wayne Indiana to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Beaune, France.
What he doesn’t know about wine and fine cuisine is probably not worth knowing. Out west he meets the woman of his dreams and marries her.
He also pursues Brice Bemidji, semi-retired industrialist, and target of a murder plot. He and wife Bette honeymoon in Britain and France, drinking some of the world’s best burgundies and dining at some world-class restaurants. Upon return to the United States Luce contacts Bemidji to write an article on him and his properties.
During the interview they are confronted by an armed drug dealer with murder on his mind. After the failed attempt Luce and his wife settle down in Coeur d’Alene where he begins to edit his Journal of Wine Reviews.
