In the House of Eryx: Volume 1 – Jodi Ralston

Eryx wakes up in a pitch-black bedroom without memory of who he is or how he got there. As he explores the House, he soon realizes his past isn’t the only mystery to unravel. The House holds plenty of its own to choose from, including silhouettes disappearing off walls, doors leading off in impossible directions, and inhabitants sewing up imaginary wounds and likening his fragrance to that of “fresh meat.”

One thing is clear. There is no exit.

But that doesn’t mean there is no way out.

The inhabitants have constructed entire mythologies around how to do just that, some more deadly and dehumanizing than others.

To have a chance at recovering all he lost upon waking up inside this place, Eryx must hit the ground running and survive the games the inhabitants and the House itself play. But one false step means death or worse–becoming a permanent fixture of this hell house.

This weird west story is set in a world inspired by 19th century America and Lovecraftian horror. It is the first of three planned volumes.
